Starting 1st April 2026, UOB/DBS American Express Cards (“Affected Card”) will no longer earn card rewards on CardUp. This change is a result of new payment processing requirements by American Express, which affect how certain Amex Card transactions qualify for rewards
That does not mean your journey with CardUp has to stop - many other cards continue to earn card rewards, including other Amex Cards, DBS Cards and UOB Cards. Find a list of eligible cards here
Which cards are affected?
The following cards will no longer earn rewards on CardUp from 1 April 2026:
DBS American Express Cards
UOB American Express Cards
Payments made using these cards after 1 April 2026 may still be processed successfully, but card rewards will not be awarded by the card issuer.
What should I do if I have scheduled payments using these cards?
If you have upcoming payments scheduled with a DBS/UOB American Express Card, we recommend updating your payment method before 1 April 2026 if you would like to continue earning rewards.
1. Update your payment method
You can switch to another eligible card by editing your payment.

You can follow this guide to reattempt your payment: I received an email that my payment failed. What do I do now?

How do I check which bank issued my American Express card?
To determine if your American Express card is issued directly by American Express or by a partner bank (e.g., DBS or UOB), please refer to the front of your card. The issuing bank’s name is typically printed on the card.
If you are unsure, you may also contact your card’s customer service hotline for confirmation.
What happens if my DBS/UOB American Express card is still charged after 1 April 2026?
Payments using DBS or UOB issued American Express cards may still be processed successfully, but card rewards will no longer be credited for charges on or after 1 April 2026.
Please note that CardUp is not responsible for any reward loss or missed rewards resulting from charges made with affected cards after this date.
We strongly recommend updating your payment method to an eligible card to continue earning rewards.
