How to pay for Tuition and Education Payments?

What types of accounts can I use to make tuition or education payments with CardUp?

At CardUp, we support making tuition or education payments to any schools or education centers with a business bank account. Personal accounts are not accepted.

Can I use CardUp to make payments for an education loan directly to a bank?
CardUp does not support payments made directly to banks for education loans. We only support tuition or education payments made directly to schools or education centres with a business bank account.

What are the payment options available for tuition or education payments?

  • Direct Payment
    If you have the full bank details of the school, including the bank account number and bank name, you can make the payment directly to them through CardUp.

  • Payment via GIRO
    Yes. If you have an existing GIRO arrangement, we can transfer the funds to your personal savings account with an active GIRO.


What supporting documents are required when setting up a tuition or education payments?

When setting up your payment, you are required to submit supporting documents. Please upload the latest invoice, which must include the following information:

  • Purpose of payment

  • Payer's name (your name) *

  • Recipient's full bank details, including the bank name, account number, and SWIFT code

  • Payment amount

  • Invoice issuing date (within the last six months)

* If you are paying on behalf of your immediate family, such as your son or daughter, please also upload a proof of relationship (e.g., birth certificate) along with the invoice. This will allow our team to verify that the payment is valid.

How to Set Up Education Payment ?

  • Sign up here, or log in to your existing account. Access your CardUp account and navigate to the Payments Dashboard.

  • Locate the green button labelled "+ Create Payment" on the top right.
    ​From the list of payment types, select "Education".

  • Enter the name of your School/ Institution Once you have entered all the necessary information, click "Continue".

  • Enter your payment details(school bank accout details as stated on the official invoice and a payment reference OR enter your GIRO arrangememnt details ). You can choose to set up your payment as a one-time payment or a monthly recurring series.

  • Select or add a new credit card to be used for this payment. Your card will be charged 3 business days before the due date selected.

  • On the next page, you will be required to upload all the necessary documents. Refer to the "Required Documents" section above for the list of documents you need to provide. After uploading the documents, click "Continue".

  • Carefully review the payment details to ensure everything is correct. If you are satisfied with the information, confirm the payment to complete the setup process.
