Overview
What is the lower-fee option?
A: This is a reduced processing fee option for Mastercard payments designed for businesses that prioritise cashflow efficiency over card rewards. It offers a lower CardUp fee in exchange for a no-rewards pricing structure.
Why is the fee lower?
The lower fee is made possible through a cost-optimised processing setup. It is designed for businesses focused on reducing payment costs rather than earning card rewards.
How is this different from standard CardUp payments?
A: Standard CardUp payments may carry higher fees and can support card rewards depending on issuer rules. The lower-fee option reduces processing cost but does not position payments for rewards eligibility.
Pricing
What fee will I be charged?
The standard lower-fee rate is 1.39%. Promotional pricing may apply for selected users. The exact fee is always shown clearly at checkout before payment confirmation.
Will pricing change in the future?
A: Pricing may be adjusted based on scheme or issuer requirements. Any changes will be communicated in advance.
How to Use
How do I select the lower-fee option?
During payment setup, choose one of the following options:
“Lower fee (no rewards)” to apply the reduced rate automatically
“I have a promo code” if you have a valid promotional code
Flexibility
Can I switch between lower-fee and standard pricing?
Yes. There is no commitment or lock-in. You can select the pricing option per transaction based on your business needs.
Rewards Positioning
Will my business still earn credit card rewards?
No. This option is structured as a no-rewards pricing model. Any rewards from your card issuer are not guaranteed, may vary, and can be changed or withdrawn by the issuer at any time. CardUp does not control or guarantee reward eligibility.
