What Miscellaneous Payments can I pay with CardUp?

Miscellaneous Payments allow you to pay selected business-related goods or services using your credit card, even if the merchant does not accept cards directly. All Miscellaneous Payments are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and are subject to approval.

  • Cash, wire transfers, or money services

  • Gambling, lotteries, or games with cash prizes

  • Adult or escort-related services

  • Donations or charitable contributions

  • Travel-related services (air tickets, hotels, travel agencies)

  • Cryptocurrency or virtual currency payments

  • Payments to yourself or personal bank accounts

  • Businesses with no legitimate operations

How to Set Up a Supported Payment under Miscellaneous



Follow these steps to create a Miscellaneous Payment:

  1. Click on “Create Payment.”

  2. Add recipient details including business name and bank account information.

  3. Enter the payment amount.

  4. On the amount page, select the Purpose of Payment from the dropdown:

    Supported Purpose of Payment Options:

    • Bridal / Wedding Services

    • Car Down Payment

    • Family Consultation & Therapy Services

    • Funeral Services

    • Law Firms or Legal Services

    • Medical Services

    • Membership Clubs

    • Private Bus / Coach Services

    • Property Down Payment

    • Storage Services

    • Utilities (Telephone, Water, Gas bills)

    • Video & Photography Services

    • Other – If selected, provide a short description (up to 40 characters).

Tip: Choose the purpose that matches your invoice. Incorrect selections may delay or reject your payment.

What documents do I need to submit?

Official invoice from the recipient must includes:

  • Recipient’s business bank account details

  • Business name

  • UEN (Unique Entity Number)

  • Amount payable

  • Description of goods or services

**Note:

  • If bank details are missing on the invoice, you may upload a separate supporting documentation during payment set up (example: bank statement)​

  • Incomplete or unclear documents may result in rejection or delays.

Are there special requirements for Car and Property Down Payments?

Yes. Additional requirements apply to Car Down Payments and Property Down Payments. You must:

  • Pre-fund your credit card before submitting the payment

  • Upload

    • Proof of loan agreement or invoice which must include must refund policy.

    • A copy of your bank statement showing that your credit card has been pre-funded

These payments are subject to stricter review and approval.

Can I use CardUp to make road tax payment to LTA-related payments such as road tax?

Yes, LTA-related payments (e.g. road tax) can be supported under the Miscellaneous Payments category. Please select “Others” as the purpose of payment when setting up the transaction.

You can arrange these payments in one of the following ways:

  1. Via GIRO (direct bank deduction)

    1. Enrol for GIRO directly with LTA first

    1. Use CardUp to fund the bank account linked to your GIRO arrangement

    2. Upload supporting documents:

      • LTA payment receipt

      • Bank statement showing GIRO deduction to LTA

  2. Via pre-paid method

    1. Make payment directly to LTA

    1. Create a payment on CardUp

    2. Add your own bank account as the payee

    3. Upload supporting documents:

      • LTA payment receipt

      • Bank statement showing upfront payment made to LTA

Can I pay an individual or personal bank account?

No. All Miscellaneous Payments must be made to a business or company bank account only. Payments to individual or personal bank accounts are not supported.

Exception: Payments to personal bank accounts are only allowed for specific approved use cases (e.g. LTA reimbursement as described above).

Will my payment be approved automatically?

Miscellaneous payments may require:

  • Additional due diligence checks

  • OTP verification

  • Document review

Note: Approval is not guaranteed and depends on document completeness and payment type.
