CardUp supports paying for short-term or long-term vehicle rentals and leases in Singapore. Here’s how you can set up your payment:
Step 1: Select “Car Rentals & Leasing” as the payment type
Log in to your CardUp account and click Pay.
On the Payment Type selection page, choose Car Rentals & Leasing.
Note: This payment type is currently available only to CardUp personal users (B2C) in Singapore.
Step 2: Add your recipient details
You’ll be asked, “Who should we send this rental or leasing payment to?”
Enter the Company UEN / business registration number (as shown on your lease or rental document).
Enter the Company Name (as shown on your lease or rental document).
Provide the bank account details for the payment transfer
(Optional) Enter a recipient email address if you’d like them to receive payment notifications
Important: Both the company name and UEN are mandatory. If the UEN format is invalid, you’ll be prompted to correct it
.
Step 3: Enter your payment details
Amount – Enter the total rental or leasing amount you wish to pay.
Card details – Visa, Mastercard, and UnionPay are supported.
American Express is not supported for this payment type. If you attempt to use an American Express card, you’ll see an error message.
Payment plan – Choose Standard or Next Business Day.
For Standard, your card is charged 3 business days before the payment arrival date.
For Next Business Day, your card is charged 1 business day before the payment arrival date.
Payment frequency – Select a one-time or recurring schedule (weekly, monthly, quarterly, or half‑yearly). Yearly frequency is not available.
Payment arrival date – Choose when you’d like your rental company to receive the funds.
Payment reference – This will appear on the recipient’s bank statement (e.g., your name, invoice number, etc.).
Promo/referral code – If applicable, enter here.
Review the fee summary. Note: If you apply any promotional codes, the discounted fee will be displayed on the "Review" page before you finalize the payment setup.
Step 4: Upload your supporting document
Upload the Rental or Leasing Agreement. Make sure it clearly shows:
Payer’s name
Payee’s (rental company) name
Car details (e.g., vehicle identification number, plate number)
Rental amount
Rental period
Rental company’s bank account details
The agreement must be issued by the car rental company and must still be valid within the stated rental period.
Tip: Double-check that the names, amounts, and bank details exactly match what you entered in CardUp to prevent any delays.
Last step: Confirm and create your payment
Review all details on the Review page to ensure accuracy.
Click Create Payment. You’ll receive a one-time password (OTP) for verification (a small, refundable verification charge of S$0.50 may appear on your card).
Your main payment will be charged on the Payment charged date based on whether you chose Standard or Next Business Day.
Note: If you’re setting up your payment on the same business day that you create your CardUp account or complete account verification, you may experience an additional 1 business day delay.
Quick Tips
Recurring payments: If you pay regularly (e.g., monthly rental installments), set your payment to repeat automatically (weekly, monthly, quarterly, or half-yearly).
Verification & schedule: Always check your Payment charged date vs. Payment arrival date to ensure the funds arrive on time.
Document guidelines: Always ensure the document you upload is recent, clearly legible, and matches all details you provided.
